Intern Requirements

GRACE Chrisitan School, a private TK-12th grade Christian School in Raleigh, is seeking a Marketing, Special Events and Enrollment Intern. This internship will provide the candidate the opportunity to experience multiple aspects of the educational nonprofit world in a fun, positive and uplifting working environment. The school anticipates the role taking around 10 hours a week; however certain event weeks may require a few additional hours. Exact hours and days will be discussed during the interview process, as it will depend on the selected student’s schedule.

The internship is intended to be beneficial for both GRACE Christian School and the selected intern. GRACE hopes to offer an engaging, real-world nonprofit experience that builds into a student’s future career.

The right intern will:

  • Be a self-motivated team player

  • Enjoy a collaborative work environment

  • Love to write and have a keen eye for copy editing

  • Have an interest in a variety of practice areas - including marketing, event planning, social media management, and more

  • Show an eagerness to learn and develop new skills

  • Understand the value of private, Christian school education

  • Perform well under deadlines

The intern will be responsible for:

Learning the ins and outs of the educational nonprofit world, including:

  • Assisting in efforts to market the school to new families

  • Communicating with existing families

  • Making minor website content edits

  • Cultivated business partnerships

  • Participating in auction procurement

  • Developing and managing social media accounts

  • Assisting with event planning and event coordination, including a Kindergarten Experience Day and “Celebrate GRACE” - the school’s annual fundraising dinner

  • Assisting with school open houses

  • Helping develop and format event programs

  • Learning about, and assisting in, advancement (fundraising) opportunities

  • Handling various administrative tasks to support the school’s marketing/communications needs

  • Meeting pre-determined deadlines

  • Asking questions!

The intern will receive:

  • Tailored guidance on projects and assignments

  • Training on digital tools like Canva, Hootsuite, RenWeb, Wordpress, etc.

  • Mentorship from experienced communications, marketing, event planning and advancement specialists

  • Nonprofit experience

  • A supportive and positive working environment
